OpenTee

Privacy policy

Plain English. Last updated June 2026.

The short version

OpenTee watches public NSW golf tee sheets and emails you the moment a tee-time opens that matches your criteria. To do that we store only what we need: your email address, the watches you create, and your plan status if you subscribe. We don't sell or share your data, and you can delete your account and everything tied to it at any time.

What we store

Your email address.Used to sign you in, verify your address, and send the alerts you ask for. Your password is never stored in readable form. It's salted and hashed.

Your watches. The courses, dates, time windows, and player counts you tell us to watch, plus a record of the alerts we've sent you so we don't send the same one twice.

We don't ask for your name or phone number, and we don't store more personal information than the service needs to run.

Payments

OpenTee has a free tier and a low-cost paid subscription. If you subscribe, your payment is handled by a trusted third-party payment provider (such as Stripe). We never see or store your full card details, only a record of your plan and subscription status so we know what you have access to.

Why we store it

Your email and watches exist for one purpose: to detect a matching open tee-time and tell you about it quickly. We use your email only to operate the service (sign-in, verification, and the alerts you requested), not for unrelated marketing.

Verification gate

An unverified email address can't receive alerts. We require you to confirm your address before any watch can arm, so we never send alerts into the void or to an address you don't control.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account at any time. Deleting your account removes your email, your watches, and your alert history from our active systems. If you'd like your data removed and can't do it from the app yet, contact us and we'll handle it.

Contact

Questions about your data or this policy? Reach us at privacy@opentee.au or via the in-app contact once it's live.

This is a minimal policy for an early-access service. A fuller policy aligned to the Australian Privacy Act follows before public launch.
